Lanzini to sign for £7.4m
Talksport

Manuel Lanzini to seal permanent West Ham switch for £7.4m, says Al-Jazira chief executive

West Ham WILL buy on-loan Manuel Lanzini for just £7.4million, according to the chief executive of his parent club Al-Jazira.

Lanzini has been one of the stars of Slaven Bilic's new-look Hammers since arriving on a season-long loan from the UAE Pro League side in the summer.

The 22-year-old has scored four Premier League goals in 13 appearances and talk has already turned to making his move permanent.

And now Al-Jazira chief executive Ayed Mabkhout says he fully expects West Ham to shell out a fee of £7.4m to complete the deal.

Mabkhout told the National: "If they decide before April 30 to buy Lanzini then they have to pay €10m.

"If they pay it we will take it.

"There have been no discussions with West Ham until now, but I think they're going to do it.

"His performance has been very good up to this moment and they need the player, but we have to wait for something official."

I think at 23 he still has plenty of room to bulk up at least 5kg.

I wish Lanzini was physically more like Payet - just a little bit more muscle would make him a much better player, I reckon.

OM, I see myself as a number 10. Vision, the odd ball with the outside of the boot.

I see you as more of a number 8 if I'm honest. With Pirlo style hair. Shirt untucked, making some slide tackles to get the crowd pumped up, more of a general.

I'd have you doing my running basically.

Coutinho is a very good player and am only surprised that one of the big Spanish clubs haven't taken him away.
He has probably played 150 odd games for Liverpool & Lanzini has played about 30. Reckon Lanzini still has a lot of improvement in him over the next couple of years & can get to that level.
Good point about how having Cresswell back helps Lanzini & Payet make space. Shame the silly cunt of a ref means that combination is broken up again this week.

Yeah they play diff positions, but I can easily see LANZO in that role when he's in his 30's. I think they're the same sort of player though.

Like a young me, if you will.

:-)

Modric plays deeper for Real Madrid, more of a Noble role in front of the defence. I agree though, he could play there and start the moves for winger to provide the strikers.

Re: Lanzini to sign for £7.4m
When on fire he's a brilliant little footballer. Still young and learning the game too.

I think he's a player, a bit like Modric where stats don't really tell the story. They're involved in everything good a their team does, always on the ball, always wanting the ball, but they just might not get that final 'assist' sort of thing.

Well, people wouldn't swap Kouyate for the most expensive player in history, so on that basis, Lanzini is better than Coutinho.

Re: Lanzini to sign for £7.4m
Crediting him for being 'a proper little player' and 'makes us tick' is kind of stating the obvious as that is exactly the type of player that he is, so if he's not doing that then there is zero point in him being out there....it's like saying you like a striker because he scores goals

A good player and has a priceless ability of being able to carry the ball up the pitch. Would like to see him start dominating games in the middle of the park rather than drifting in and out.

Re: Lanzini to sign for £7.4m
Had mentioned to a hammer at work that both Payet and Lanzini were suffering a little at not having their beloved Cresswell on that flank with them, as they all seem to have a blinding chemistry and understanding.

Fuck you officials you cunts!

Lanzini makes us tick and not been easy for any of the play makers with the midfield and defending being so poor.

Another win Saturday and watch them go.

I appreciate where you're coming from Ron, to be courted by the massive clubs he needs to produce more. It has been stop start to this season though, he was injured at first, the team were collectively appalling, but there are no more excuses now, he has to consistently produce. He's 24 just after the turn of the year, so should be coming into his prime given the type of player he is.

Noble would have taken the penalty if he had been on the pitch.

Re: Lanzini to sign for £7.4m
Hope so. I want him terrorising defenders and laying it on a plate for strikers, not looking to link up with Payet for social media montage moments.

Since the Man Utd home FA Cup game i think he's been disappointing.

I reckon he'll kick on now that he's back up to fitness, and as plw said, with Cresswell back hopefully they'll start to link up like they did last season.

True, he was dropped from the starting line or subbed off during matches since he come back at Man City.

0 assists.

I think he potentially a much much better player. Few glimpses against Palace though.
